Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy looks to help people achieve positive change. Rather than focusing on the ‘problem’, this approach centres around the solution. Using practical strategies, solution focused hypnotherapy looks to inspire change in a relatively short period of time. Some therapeutic approaches require you to look back into your past to try and understand why you may be experiencing the things you are today. For some this will be helpful, others may feel the benefits from a different approach. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy does not focus on your past, instead it will focus on the now and the future.
What is Hypnosis/Trance?
Hypnosis and trance are interchangeable words referring to the same thing. It is very ordinary and something that most of us do everyday without even realising. Have you ever driven your car from one point to another and then had no recollection of that journey? Have you ever watched TV and become so absorbed that you do not see or hear anything else going on around you? This is trance, it is when our two minds (subconscious and conscious mind) come together and focus on the same thing.
During hypnotherapy you will be asked to lie back, close your eyes, relax and listen to me talk. I will incorporate positive stories and metaphors that your subconscious mind will use in a helpful way for you to make progress and reach your goals. You will be in complete control and can choose to stop the session at any time.
Session Format
The sessions are made of two parts. The first is Solution Focused Psychotherapy where you are encouraged to reflect on the positive aspects of your week and work towards setting small, achievable goals that will help you to move forward in a positive way. The second part is Hypnotherapy where you will feel deeply relaxed, in fact, just 20 minutes of trance is equivalent to 4 hours sleep. Most people feel well rested after these sessions.
Working with Children
